Weekend Wrap Up

At long last the cross country team got to taste some competition this weekend at the Berkshire Early Bird Invitational in Geauga County. This was SJA's first time to this meet, and the girls came away with a positive experience. All the runners competed in the same race, so there was no JV/open. Out of 17 teams, SJA finished 3rd.

The top 7 for the team were
Gab Kreuz - 15th - 21:25
Tay Whisler - 17th - 21:40
Jessica Sirchen - 23rd - 21:50
Maggie Harter - 38th - 22:27
Maggie Boyer - 47th - 22:41
Mel Ward - 48th - 22:42
Mary Kate Chambers - 49th - 22:45

Complete results for this meet can be found on www.baumspage.com..click here for the link...Early Bird Results

After the meet the team spent the night at Punderson State Park on a camping trip. All went well until the rains camp after breakfast Sunday morning. Regardless, the girls were resolute and did their best.

Below is the information directly from the meet management. It appears all of girls who are racing will be running at the same time! Wow!!!!! That will be at least 30 girls. We won't be racing the injured people (obviously) or the ones with fewer than 10 practices under their belt per OHSAA rules.

Bus will leave SJA at 7:30 am. Stuff for the camping trip should be either on the bus at this time, or brought with parents going out to the meet. We are NOT coming home then going back out again.
