Ohio is a very competitive state for every sport, but especially distance running. To have two runners qualify to the state meet in the biggest, most competitive division is an honor and privilege, not to mention exciting! Both Maggie Wagner and Sydney Seymour qualified to the state meet for the second time in their careers and both runners competed exceptionally well.
Seymour finished 16th place overall, good enough for pictures on the podium and All-Ohio status. Her time of 18:28 was her 4th fastest time ever. Wagner finished in 36th place overall and also ran her 4th fastest time ever. To note how fast the field was this year, Wagner ran the identical time two years ago at the state meet and finished 17th place - the game has changed!
There was a great showing of fan support and the coaching staff has been fortunate to work with dedicated and loving athletes. It starts at the top with senior captains Bridget McGuire and Corinne Baker as well as junior captain Olivia Battistoni, then trickles through the rest of the team.
Congratulations to the entire team for a memorable, fun, and successful 2015 season!

Week of August 17th
Thank you to
the team for the greatness Saturday night – they spared my wife of cleaning up
toilet paper and instead left a great care package that had caffeine, baby
bottles, and customized onesie and some initials. Very classy move! Love it!
3 important
things to note coming up
1. All of the clothing gear order forms are due
Monday at practice. If you emailed me an
order last week that will NOT be taken.
Please fill in the form and send the money to practice Monday. All of the people who missed last week need
to be at this practice and turn in the form please.
2. Picture day for our team is Monday, August 24th
at SJA. Uniforms and picture order forms
will be passed out at Fridays practice.
3. Tuesday we can have a picnic after the
practice at Wendy Park on Whiskey Island.
Its late notice, but it’s the last day of summer for our students. The plan is to practice from 3:45-5:30, then
the girls can eat, tye-die shirts, and play volleyball.
Cross Country Week of Monday, Aug 17
Monday, Aug
17 – South Mastick 3:45-5:45. General
Mileage day with faster last mile – final day to turn in team gear order forms
Tuesday, Aug

picnic and volleyball part open to families and not just the team. There are 8 excellent sand courts there. Practice 3:45-5:45…picnic until
whenever. You’ll need a shirt to
tye-die!!!!
